Sealift2 International Limited is pleased to announce the support for catamaran lifts on its eco-friendly floating dry dock at Haslar Marina in Gosport. The Sealift2 dock currently lifts 65ft motor boats and yachts weighing up to 50 tons in less than 5 minutes, enabling hull cleaning, anode replacement and re-launch in under an hour. All potentially toxic wash off is collected and processed by an on board water treatment plant, which enables the waste water to be discharged back into the sea in strict accordance with EU environmental standards.
“Since we installed our new SD model dock at Haslar Marina, Gosport last year we have seen an increasing demand from catamaran owners who are not well served in the Solent area - so we decided to modify our dock to accommodate catamarans with a maximum beam of 24ft 6inches”, said Richard Bayley, Managing Director of Sealift2 International Limited.
The new service for catamarans will be available from July 2012 and will include all of the standard services currently provided on the Sealift2 dock. These include a one hour lift, clean and re-launch service and overnight antifoul and hull polishing services.
Sealift2’s pricing for standard services is extremely competitive. Further discounts are also available for regular customers who purchase Sealift2’s range of Total Care Voucher packs, which bundle services together into vouchers which are valid for a period of one year from the date of purchase.
“This enhancement to our dock provides a clearance to the underside of the catamaran of 600mm, which gives us ample room to get in between the hulls for cleaning, antifouling and polishing” said Paul Edmunds, Dock Manager.
Sealift2 has been operating a floating dry dock in Cowes for the last six years. Last year a new SD model was installed at Haslar Marina on Gosport and this has now been upgraded to accommodate catamarans. Total Care voucher pack holders can use their lift and clean vouchers at any Sealift2 owned and operated dock, but some of the specialist services such as hull polishing and catamaran lifts are restricted to the larger SD model dock at Gosport.
